Μας προτείνουν ένα μονοπάτι, θα σας μιλήσω για τα παραδείγματα στην Ευρώπη αλλά και σε άλλες χώρες.

Έχω να σας προτείνω ΆΛΛΟ μονοπάτι, αυτό στο οποίο πορευόμαστε από το 1992 με ΕΠΙΤΥΧΙΑ.

Βρισκόμαστε μπροστά σε μία ιστορική στιγμή, όχι μόνο για τους Ρεφλεξολόγους αλλά για όλους τους εναλλακτικούς συμπληρωματικούς θεραπευτές.

Μας προτείνουν ένα δρόμο που οδηγεί στην δημιουργία επαγγελματικού σωματείου.

Τι θα σημαίνει αυτό για εμάς, θα αλλάξει η ζωή μας όπως την ξέρουμε, θα βελτιωθεί ή θα γίνει πιο δύσκολη?

Πως τα καταφέραμε μέχρι τώρα, τι μας περιμένει.

Στο εξωτερικό τι έγινε όταν προχώρησαν σε αυτό το δρόμο?

Μήπως και που έγιναν τα σωματεία όπως περιγράφουν άλλαξε κάτι στην αγορά?

Θα σας ζητηθεί η γνώμη να είστε εκεί να την πείτε.

Αγαπητοί συνάδελφοι,

-Α) Θα θέλαμε να σας υπενθυμίσουμε πως δικαίωμα ψήφου έχουν μόνο τα τακτικά μέλη που έχουν τακτοποιήσει την οικονομική τους εκκρεμότητα για το 2016.

-Β) Μετά από απόφαση του ΔΣ, θα μπορέσουν να ψηφίσουν και τα μέλη εκτός Αττικής μέσω skype.

-Γ) Προσκαλούμε τα μέλη του ΠΕΣΡ προκειμένου να ενημερωθούν για τη θέση του ΣΕΡ ως προς την Ένωση των δυο Σωματείων με σκοπό το κοινό όφελος.

-Δ) Θα προσκαλεστούν τα επίτιμα και ιδρυτικά μέλη του ΣΕΡ, με σκοπό να προσφέρουν την τοποθέτησή τους σε ό, τι ακούσουν και αφορά τη Ρεφλεξολογία, θα προσκαλεστούν οι Πρόεδροι των παλαιοτέρων ΔΣ και ο κύριος Δημητράκουλας για να ενημερώσει τα μέλη ως προς την επαγγελματική ταυτότητα της Ρεφλεξολογίας στην Ευρώπη.

-Ε) Την περασμένη Παρασκευή στις 23/9/2016, τα μέλη του ΔΣ του ΣΕΡ, επισκέφθηκαν τον σωματειολόγο κύριο Σεραφείμ για περισσότερες διευκρινίσεις σε σχέση με τι σημαίνει επαγγελματικό σωματείο.
Εκεί σημειώθηκαν τα εξής:

1. Από τη στιγμή που οι αρχαιρεσίες γίνονται με παρουσία δικαστικού αντιπροσώπου, το εν λόγω έγγραφο των εκλογών αναγνωρίζεται από κάθε δημόσια υπηρεσία ως νόμιμο έγγραφο του κράτους και δεν τίθεται θέμα πλαστότητας.

2. Συνδιαλέγεται με το Υπουργείο Υγείας και μπορεί να καταθέσει προτάσεις.

3. Από τη στιγμή που η εκπαίδευση είναι σε επίπεδο ΙΕΚ μπορεί να κατατεθεί η πρόταση για εξομοίωση όλων των (έως εκείνη τη στιγμή) πτυχίων, εκτός NHS και ΚΕΠΑΝΣΥ, χωρίς να δοθούν εξετάσεις.

4. Το κράτος καθιστά το Επαγγελματικό σωματείο ως αρμόδιο φορέα για πιστοποίηση των πτυχίων.

-ΣΤ) Για να γίνει Επαγγελματικός ο ΣΕΡ είναι 2 τρόποι:

1. Μέσω της Ένωσης με το ήδη υπάρχον Επαγγελματικό Σωματείο ΠΕΣΡ ή

2. Να γίνει ο ΣΕΡ επαγγελματικός εφόσον σύμφωνα με το νόμο «μεταβολής του σκοπού» πρέπει να εγκριθεί από την ολομέλεια του ΣΕΡ. Η απόφαση για τη μετατροπή του ΣΕΡ από αστικού δικαίου σε επαγγελματικού δεν είναι απόφαση Γενικής Συνέλευσης (με βάση την αρχή της πλειοψηφίας) .

-Ζ) Η συμβουλή του δικηγόρου είναι: το σωστό είναι να υπάρχει μόνο ένα επαγγελματικό Σωματείο, όπου μέσω αυτού θα κατατίθεται μια πρόταση στο εκάστοτε Υπουργείο. Στη περίπτωση που το κάθε Σωματείο καταθέτει τις δικές του προτάσεις θα υπάρξει διάσπαση, χωριστικότητα και η Ρεφλεξολογία θα γίνει βορά των ΤΕΙ ή ακόμα και των γιατρών ως εναλλακτική θεραπευτική προσέγγιση-τεχνική.

-Η) Κατόπιν αποφάσεως του ΔΣ, για λόγους διαφάνειας σας επισυνάπτουμε την πρόταση του ΠΕΣΡ στο ΚΕΣΥ (Υπουργείο Υγείας), για τη ρύθμιση του επαγγέλματος της Ρεφλεξολογίας. Καθώς επίσης και την επιστολή από τον ΠΕΣΡ στο ΣΕΡ για την εν λόγω δράση.

Επικαλούμαστε την παρουσία όλων, μόνο έτσι θα μπορέσουμε να προστατεύσουμε αυτό που αγαπάμε και πρεσβεύουμε. Τη Ρεφλεξολογία.

Παγκόσμια εβδομάδα Ρεφλεξολογίας 22 - 24 Σεπτεμβρίου στο Athens Heart

I approve of RAA's explanation based on the nervous system. This I presented at the last ICR conference.
Interesting that the Americans proceeded this way, considering Ingham being American.

NEW REFLEXOLOGY DEFINITION

The RAA Board is excited to announce that after months of discussion, we have a NEW DEFINITION of reflexology in the United States!

The American Reflexology Certification Board (ARCB), the National Council for Reflexology Educators (NCRE) and the Reflexology Association of America (RAA) have all agreed to adopt the following definition:

“Reflexology is a protocol of manual techniques, such as thumb and finger-walking, hook and backup and rotating-on-a-point, applied to specific reflex areas predominantly on the feet and hands. These techniques stimulate the complex neural pathways linking body systems, supporting the body’s efforts to function optimally. The effectiveness of reflexology is recognized worldwide by various national health institutions and the public at large as a distinct complementary practice within the holistic health field.”

This is a BIG step for the field of reflexology; the first time all three national organizations representing the testing, membership and educational arms of our field have agreed to and written one definition that we can all get behind.

We invite and strongly encourage all reflexologists and state associations to use the new definition on your websites and in all marketing materials. It will take all our efforts and cooperation – not just the national associations - to advance the field of reflexology to professional status in this country.

...εχοντας αυτο κατα νου, το πρωτο μερος που εξετάζω οταν ερχεται καποιος σε μενα ζητωντας βοήθεια, ειναι σε τι βαθμο υπαρχει ευαισθησια στην περιοχη σχετικη με τον αυχενα. Στην περιπτωση που υπαρχει αρκετη ενταση στον αυχενα, γνωριζω οτι εχει μειωθει η αιματωση του εγκεφαλου σε καποιο βαθμο, και εχοντας αυτο κατα νου και η υποφυση θα υποφερει σε κάποιο βαθμο, έτσι δεν ειναι? Δεν θα μπορέσει να λειτουργήσει 100% ο συγκεκριμένος αδένας εαν εχει μειωθει η φυσιολογικη ροη αίματος προς εκείνον.
Να θυμαστε λοιπόν, οταν σας επισκέπτεται κάποιος, σίγουρα θα εργαστείτε στην έξω επιφάνεια του μεγάλου δαχτύλου προς το δεύτερο δάχτυλο όπου και βρίσκεται η αντανακλαστική περιοχή για τον αυχένα.

Acupuncturists have long studied the healing potential of piercings— particularly their ability to relieve migraines and help stave off allergies. Indeed, according to the book Mysteries of The Ear, published by Assouline and written by the neuropharmacologist Dr Nadia Volf, the ancient Egyptians, Romans and Persians practised auricular acupuncture to aid everything from digestion to eyesight and menstrual problems, while the reason pirates wore a ring in one earlobe is that, according to folkloric tradition, the piercing enhanced their vision.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump favored the use of Reflexology to relieve pain and stress during the birth of his baby in 1993.

Marla's breathing/birthing coach Aiko Aiyana offered the Reflexology.

"I was very nervous, because she was in a lot of pain," Trump said. "I tried to convince her to take something, but she wouldn't. I asked the doctor to convince her, but he knew Marla was determined not to take any drugs. She's so strong, such a strong woman. I'm amazed."

Aiyana assisted in the birth and massaged Marla using reflexology, a foot-massage that correlates to various points in the body to relieve pain and stress.

Expression of the endocannabinoid receptors in human fascial tissue

Feel high after a massage? Receptors for our body’s own cannabinoid substances are present in fascia according to a recent research from the Stecco group in the University of Padova in Italy.

Endocannabinoids are "the body’s own cannabinoid system" , bodily substances which have biological effects similar to those of marijuana, they are often found in human brain and the nervous system. Studies showed that stimulating the receptors can relieve pain and suppress inflammation. Research has demonstrated that patients with fibromyalgia report that marijuana use lowers pain and improves health-related quality of life, making researchers suspect that endocannabinoid receptors, which also mediate the effects of marijuana, might exist in tissues other than the brain and immune cells.

Their presence was also previously reported in myofascial tissue, suggesting that the endocannabinoid system may help resolve myofascial trigger points. However, the expression of CB1 (cannabinoid receptor 1) and CB2 (cannabinoid receptor 2) in human fascia has not yet been established. This study published in the European Journal of Histochemistry, is the first to establish this relationship.

The auhors extracted fascia lata, the deep fascia of the thigh, from 11 volunteers who had orthopedic surgery, and then isolated the main cell type of the fascia, called fibroblasts. They found both types of receptors,CB1 and CB2, in these cells. Examining whole tissue levels of the two receptors, researchers noted somewhat higher levels, indicating that the receptors may also be present in other cell types.

The authors said that "The presence of CB1 and CB2 receptors in fascial fibroblasts suggests their possible role in modulation of fascial pain. The fascial pain is usually related to a fascial inflammation and/or a fascial fibrosis, and both could be related to an alteration to the endocannabinoid system. Indeed the activation of CB1 and CB2 receptors is able to suppress pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1beta e TNF-alpha and to increase anti-inflammatory cytokines, and provide an anti-fibrotic activity. "

"It is also possible that the endocannabinoid system inside the deep fasciae is stimulated during manipulative treatments and exercises. A previous sudy by McPartland et al. demonstrated that after osteopathic manipulation treatment the serum level of anandamide increase 168% over pretreatment levels and Gamelin et al. demonstrated that chronic exercise is able to modify the tissue levels of endocannabinoids. Besides, it is known that the connective tissue is one of the principal target of the stretching, causing the remodeling of the cytoskeleton of the fibroblasts and a modulation of the inflammation-regulation mechanisms within connective tissue. Consequently, we can suppose that specific exercises or fascial treatments could be able to stimulate the fascial fibroblasts and consequently to modulate the endocannabinoid system and the release of anti-inflammatory cytokines. "

In my practice in recent years ,and again last week with a new wonderful female client of 85 years of age, told me that they were treated by reflexologist/zone therapist, the famous and legendary Joseph Corvo. They all report the same, and with raised eyebrows and with a passion exclaim "he is amazing...and it really works (reflexology) ... my God it was painful"...My client told me last week , "yes he used a probe (stick) ...and I had to tell him to ease up...but my goodness it worked like magic." I remember Tony Porter , my teacher telling me stories about Joe,... hearing these stories is fascinating. Apparently Joseph , now well into his 90's is still in practice - awesome. Maybe I will go and seek him out :-)

Video of UP policeman getting foot massage at police station sparks outrage

The appalling video of a UP Police sub-inspector getting a foot massage at the police station has gone viral online, while sparking a huge outcry among Netizens – and quite justifiably so.

The video, apparently shot in July, at the Mohanlalganj police station shows sub-inspector Ram Yagya Yadav getting a foot massage by a man, while squatting on the floor, near him. Yadav seems to be casually talking on the phone, and other officials were going about their work as usual as if there was nothing wrong with what was going on.

The police reportedly said it was not clear whether the person giving the foot massage was a complainant or a detainee, nevertheless, the video has drawn many angry reactions after being posted online.

Επισκεφτηκα το gazebo στην παραλία και ειχε μία αφίσα που εγραφε Ρεφλεξολογία με μεγάλα γράμματα και μασάζ με πιο μικρά.
Δεν γνωριστήκαμε εκείνη την ημέρα γιατί δεν ήταν εκεί.
Βοηθός είναι μόνο, ειναι και ρεφλεξολόγος, δεν ξέρω.
Ξέρω ότι ειναι η 2η περιπτωση εκει επάνω και οτι δημιουργείται προηγούμενο.

Καθόλου καλό.

Ενδιαφέρον εχει και η τελευταία παράγραφος του άρθρου.

Επίσης, να ενημερώσω ότι βάσει του νόμου συνένοχος θεωρείται πλέον και ο ασθενής. Αν κάποιος εν αγνοία του ή όχι λάβει τέτοιες παροχές, και η υπόθεση πάει στα δικαστήρια, θα είναι και ο ίδιος υπόλογος.

Δεν λέω ότι συμφωνώ με όσα λέει ο Dr. Manzanares , αλλά θα πω ότι με ενδιαφέρει η εργασία του και είναι πολύ ωραίο να τον ακούσω και να τον "αφουγκραστώ" ο ίδιος έστω μέσω ενός βίντεο.
Με τον ιατρό ασχολούμαστε ήδη από το 1ο έτος στην εκπαίδευση της ρεφλεξολογίας.

Ένας ιατρός από την Βαρκελώνη έχει σε 3 δεκαετίες προσφέρει και καταγράψει σε 70.000 περιστατικά τις παρατηρήσεις του σχετικά με την ρεφλεξολογία.

Οι έρευνες του έχουν εστιάσει σε τρεις στόχους
1. να εξηγήσει τον νεύρο-φυσιολογικό μηχανισμό της ρεφλεξολογία.
2. να προσδιορίσει με ακρίβεια τα ανακλαστικά σημεία μέσω μελέτης διάρκειας 27 ετών και σε 70.000 συνεδρίες
3. πρωτόκολλα ρεφλεξολογίας για παθολογικές καταστάσεις.
Περαιτέρω έρευνες έχουν πραγματοποιηθεί σχετικά με τους "κρυστάλλους" όπου αλίευσε ιστό από θετικές ανακλαστικές περιοχές, ανακλαστική εκδήλωση στο αντίθετο πόδι με σκοπό να επιφέρει ακρίβεια και να διορθώσει την θεωρία του Δρ. Φιτζέραλντ σχετικά με τις κάθετες ζώνες, και έρευνες όπου εφαρμόζεται η ρεφλεξολογία στην ελλειμματική προσοχή / υπερκινητικότητα - ΔΕΠΥ (Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder - ADHD) και στην υπέρταση.

Research on the Effect of the Foot Bath and Foot Massage on Residual Schizophrenia Patients.

Abstract
Researchers performed foot baths and massages for residual schizophrenia patients to gauge the effects on psychiatric symptoms. Subjects were six residual schizophrenia patients hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital. Three times a week for 4weeks, they received an 8-minute effleurage massage to their legs after a 10-minute foot bath. The effect of physiological relaxation was identified by a significant decline in heart rate in all cases. The results of the Positive and Negative Symptom Scale are as follows: a mean score of 29.0 was measured before treatment, which lowered to 21.5 after treatment, indicating that foot care improved their negative symptoms (p<0 .05="" 10.5="" 34.0="" after="" and="" before="" care="" foot="" he="" improvement="" in="" increased="" indicating="" intervention="" life="" of="" p="" quality="" results="" scale="" span="" the="" their="" to="" were="">

The effects of two methods of reflexology and stretching exercises on the severity of restless leg syndrome among hemodialysis patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND:
Restless leg syndrome prevalence is high among the patients undergoing hemodialysis. Due to several side effects of medicational treatments, the patients prefer non-medicational methods. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the effects of two methods of reflexology and stretching exercises on the severity of restless leg syndrome among patients undergoing hemodialysis.
MATERIALS AND METHODS:
This study is a randomized clinical trial that was done on 90 qualified patients undergoing hemodialysis in selected hospitals of Isfahan, who were diagnosed with restless leg syndrome through standard restless leg syndrome questionnaire. They were randomly assigned by random number table to three groups: Reflexology, stretching exercises, and control groups through random allocation. Foot reflexology and stretching exercises were conducted three times a week for 30-40 min within straight 4 weeks. Data analysis was performed by SPSS version 18 using descriptive and inferential statistical analyses [one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), paired t-test, and least significant difference (LSD) post hoc test].
RESULTS:
There was a significant difference in the mean scores of restless leg syndrome severity between reflexology and stretching exercises groups, compared to control (P < 0.001), but there was no significant difference between the two study groups (P < 0.001). Changes in the mean score of restless leg syndrome severity were significantly higher in reflexology and stretching exercises groups compared to the control group (P < 0.001), but it showed no significant difference between reflexology massage and stretching exercises groups.
CONCLUSIONS:
Our obtained results showed that reflexology and stretching exercises can reduce the severity of restless leg syndrome. These two methods of treatment are recommended to the patients.

Her research has been of benefit to all an undeniable fact.

But after her initial research she went a step further in her research where

This in the beginning did not sound good to me...

"What is she doing, she will take us out of buisness!"

Recently she tried to recruit caregivers to offer the Reflexology but this proved to be difficult.

RESULTS:

Almost one-third of patients were found to be ineligible due to the lack of a caregiver to participate with them and provide this form of social support. Among eligible patients, the consent rate for this dyadic study is much lower than that of previous RCTs of reflexologist-delivered reflexology that enrolled just patients, not dyads.

CONCLUSION:

Implications for nursing practice and research include addressing the need for greater social support for patients and strategies for problem-solving refusal reasons during study enrollment.

Wyatt, PhD, RN, Professor, College of Nursing, Michigan State University, describes reflexology treatment for patients with breast cancer.

Reflexology is not massage, it is a specific pressure most commonly applied to the foot. The thumb-walking motion across the reflexes located on the foot provides a "good hurt" with firm pressure, Wyatt says.

The deep pressure from reflexology should not be painful and does not cause tissue damage. If done correctly, a patient should help to monitor pain, as they should be receiving benefit on reflexes without pain.
