Backlash to government's natural therapies rebate ban spurs new review

Remember that recently, since April 1st, CAM therapies were not covered by private health insurance in Australia? The government decided on this.
Now it seems the government has changed its mind!
...CAUTION fellow reflexologists, it hasn't changed for all 19 methods but for four.
Reflexology not included.

She wrote to Health Minister Greg Hunt seeking an overturn on the rebate ban for yoga, naturopathy, tai chi and western herbal medicine.
Mr Hunt has conceded that the government should consider new evidence in support of certain natural therapies that has emerged in the five years since the last review.

110.000 people signed the petition
And... A poll of nearly 4,000 people conducted by YHYC in 2018 showed that 95% would either cancel (50%) or reduce (45%) their level of private health cover if the policy went ahead.

The Your Health Your Choice consumer campaign welcomes the Liberal National Government’s announcement to commission an updated review of natural therapies, including a five year update to its 2014-15 review of natural therapies – providing it is done transparently and ethically.
YHYC spokesperson Ms Petrina Reichman said, “This announcement is a result of the LNP bowing to pressure from the 13,323 Australians that personally wrote to Minister Hunt and LNP MPs and Senators since February this year, in addition to thousands of others that wrote to Minister Hunt after the policy became law in September 2018.” Other groups and experts have also presented the Government with up to date research demonstrating effectiveness for many of the affected therapies.

Prince Charles's Scottish stately home offer's reflexology

While Dumfries House has not yet held a seance that we know about, the
Ayrshire mansion does have a new alternative health centre in its grounds. In a bid to take pressure off the NHS, Charles set up the multi-million-pound clinic, which he officially opened in January.
Will Charles persuade Hancock — whose, wife, Martha, is an osteopath — to open similar alternative health centres elsewhere in the country?
Nicknamed the ‘Royal NHS’, the clinic gives free treatment to patients with conditions such as chronic pain, diabetes, anxiety, infertility and the side-effects of menopause. It also offers a wide range of complementary therapies, including reflexology and hypnotherapy.
