It seems that these "quack treatments" are still the patients first choice.

For many years Professor Edzard Ernst has been speaking and writing very

negatively about complementary medicine and this has informed the public and has affected how the CAM world expresses themselves.

A few decades ago you would read in books, articles and online claims of healing, admittedly, plenty where exagerating. But this changed.
Then the CAM world started describing the therapies as relaxing but this too was not accepted as it is connected with the parasympathetic nervous system, which controls rest and digestion. This relaxation breeds recovery and the more time we spend in a parasympathetic state, the healthier we are.
Then, the CAM world being cornered, started using the word "wellness", but this too has a connection to healing and recovery so again they did not like it.
A recent and current trend, brought by necessity of course, gave rise to the usage of the term "wellbeing". Wellness and Wellbeing seem very similar but are not meant too.
Practising CAM modalities like Reflexology or walking in the park, or learning something new, are all wellbeing activities. Engaging in these activities leads to wellness which is a prerequisite to health, isn't it?

In this article, Researcher Leslie Rose accuses the NHS of lying to patients or hiding information from them
"The NHS trusts said they weren't attempting to cure cancer with any of these treatments, but that's the minimum that they should be saying."
...and, he pleads for the sake of the patients, that offering these therapies must be stopped.

Professor Edzard and Researcher Leslie, I do not know how to break this to you, but, it seems that whatever you do, no matter how many articles you write, no matter how you force us to express ourselves, CAM therapies are still the patients first choice.
